Bringing together communities throughout the region, Central Highlands Multicultural Festival celebrates cultural diversity and promotes the benefits of living in a multicultural society by embracing common values and sharing in food, music and entertainment.
The festival first began in 2005 and its continuing success drew 7000 to the event in 2015. It is now the largest one day festival in the Central Highlands region.
Global cuisine
Take your taste buds on a trip around the globe and sample delights from each of the 20 food stalls available: from Hawaiian inspired mocktails to Korean cuisine; authentic Indian curries to New Zealand Hangi; traditional Philippines cooking to Peruvian Delights…enjoy a delicious variety of the region’s culinary fare!
Beer and Wine Garden
The International Beer and Wine Garden will feature a variety of ales from around the world.
Entertainment
The festival will showcase world music and dance performances from a selection of local, national and international dance troupes, instrumentalists and singers. From Gypsy swing to Spanish guitar, didgeridoo to djembe, hip hop to Aussie rock, the Central Highlands Multicultural Festival will feature an exotic mix of performances.
Kids Zone
There’s plenty to keep kids entertained, from amusement rides to arts and crafts workshops and face painting.
Best Dressed – National Costume Award
The National Costume Award is a great opportunity to express your identity and pride through a national or traditional costume – whether it’s a colourful sari, head dress, kilt, grass skirt, poncho, kaftan or akubra and R.M. Williams!
